Thailand Celebrates 50 Years of Friendship with China Through “Amazing Thailand Mid-Autumn Night 2025”

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) hosted the “Amazing Thailand Mid-Autumn Night 2025” gala at One Bangkok to commemorate 50 years of Thailand–China diplomatic relations. The event, part of the nationwide “Nihao Month” campaign, brought together 100 Chinese KOLs, influencers, and media representatives during China’s Golden Week and Mid-Autumn Festival, highlighting Thailand’s cultural richness and welcoming spirit.

Distinguished attendees included Tourism Minister Atthakorn Sirilatthayakorn, Chinese Embassy Counsellor Yang Xiao Long, Permanent Secretary Natreeya Taweewong, and TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool, among other key figures. Their presence emphasized Thailand’s commitment to strengthening tourism, cultural exchange, and people-to-people connections between the two nations.

The reception launched the “Thailand, Told by You” UGC Challenge and FAM Trip (5–10 October), where participants will explore Chiang Mai, Pattaya, Phuket, and Ko Samui to experience Thailand’s newest attractions. They will share their journeys on major Chinese digital platforms, showcasing Thailand’s “5 Must Do” highlights – Must Taste cuisine, Must Try activities, Must Buy local products, Must Seek scenic spots, and Must See festivals. The itinerary also promotes Smart and Sustainable Tourism, featuring initiatives like Trusted Thailand to assure visitors of safety and quality.

TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool noted, “Nihao Month demonstrates our strong commitment to China, one of Thailand’s key tourism markets. Through creative marketing, partnerships, and cultural collaboration, we aim to inspire real travel while celebrating enduring friendship.

As part of Nihao Month 2025, TAT has introduced nationwide promotions with major Chinese platforms including Meituan, Ctrip, Tongcheng, Dianping, Alipay, WeChat, RED, and Douyin, offering special deals until 31 December 2025. The Chinese Passport Privilege Programme also provides exclusive discounts at top Thai retailers such as Siam Piwat, The Mall Group, Central Embassy, One Bangkok, 7-Eleven, Lotus’s, Makro, and Tops.

Between January and September 2025, Thailand welcomed over 3.4 million visitors from China. With Nihao Month energizing the final quarter, TAT anticipates continued growth in arrivals, reaffirming the enduring friendship and tourism partnership between Thailand and China.
