They have visited the “Nong Yai Area Development Project” which was established in accordance with His Majesty the late King’s royal initiative; listened to stories of natural monkey cheeks and guidelines for flood prevention in Chumphon, and visited island number 9 where people adhere to sufficiency economy principles. They also visited a crab pawn shop which is a place that receives crabs that lay their eggs outside their shell from local fishermen, in order for the eggs to hatch; they nurture the infant crabs before releasing them into the sea. Then, the visiting diplomats observed the beauty of the seabed at Ran Pet island and Ran Kai island.
Mr Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Tourism and Sports, joined the group on a visit to Matcha Street Community and Ban Thung Maha Community (Pak Klong Homestay), part of the Nong Yai Area Development Project which has been constructed in accordance with His Majesty the late King’s royal initiative in Chumphon.
