Bangkok, Thailand – The Royal Thai Government has announced that starting January 1, 2025, Indian passport holders will be able to access Thailand’s e-Visa facility. This new initiative aims to streamline the visa application process for Indian travelers. Importantly, the existing 60-day visa exemption for Indian passport holders will remain in effect.
“We are thrilled to announce that Thailand’s e-Visa will be implemented in India from January 1, 2025. However, the 60-day visa exemption for Indian passport holders remains effective,” stated the Royal Thai Embassy.
Visa Application Details
Applicants, including non-Thai nationals, can apply for all types of visas via Thailand’s official e-Visa platform: https://www.thaievisa.go.th. Applications can be submitted either directly by the applicants or through their representatives.
Key Points:
- Processing Time: Applications will be processed within 14 working days from the date the visa fee is received.
- Payment Methods: The respective Embassy and Consulate-Generals will provide details on offline payment options for visa fees.
Deadlines for Current Visa System
The Embassy also outlined deadlines for applications under the existing system:
- Ordinary Passport Applications: Submit to designated visa processing companies by December 16, 2024.
- Diplomatic/Official Passport Applications: Submit to the Royal Thai Embassy or consulate-general by December 24, 2024.
Existing 60-Day Visa Exemption
The Royal Thai Embassy confirmed that the 60-day visa exemption for Indian travelers visiting for tourism or short business purposes will remain in place until further notice.
