Editorial Policy

BangkokScoop publishes short, accurate summaries of the news that matters to people in Thailand. This policy explains how our stories are made and how we handle mistakes.

How our stories are made

Our editors monitor established news organisations, news agencies, government and official announcements, and event organisers. A story may be drafted with the help of AI tools, but no story is published without review and approval by a human editor, who checks it against the original source for accuracy, context and fairness.

Sources and attribution

Every story names its original source and links to it where possible. We summarise; we do not copy full articles.

Accuracy and corrections

We put accuracy before speed. If we get something wrong, we correct it as quickly as possible and, for significant errors, note the correction on the story. To report an error, email editor@bangkokscoop.com or choose "Correction" on our contact form.

Independence and sponsored content

Advertisers, sponsors and partners have no influence over which stories we publish or how we write them. Sponsored content and partner offers are always clearly labelled and kept separate from news. Some travel links are affiliate links; this never affects our coverage.

Fairness and sensitive topics

We aim to be fair and balanced, avoid sensational headlines, and take extra care with stories involving crime, accidents, health and minors, including not naming victims where that could cause harm.
