The Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) said today that motorists can use Bangkok’s tollways free of charge on July 5-6, 2020.
The Chalerm Mahanakorn Expressway (First Stage Expressway), Si Rat Expressway and Udon Ratthaya Expressway are waiving tolls on July 5-6 during Asalha Puja Day and Buddhist Lent Day.
Tollway operators Bangkok Expressway and Metro Pcl (BEM) and Nippon Express NEC Logistics (Thailand) or NECL, say the free travel is in line with the Transport Ministry’s amended concession contract to waive charges on official holidays. There are 19 toll fee collection booths on Chalerm Mahanakorn Expressway, 31 toll fee collection booths on the Si Rat Expressway and 10 toll fee collection booths on Udon Ratthaya Expressway.
Over the long weekend, the EXAT will dispatch additional staff to facilitate travel in areas that are prone to traffic jams or road accidents, to provide roadside assistance 24 hours a day. For more information, please contact the EXAT Call Center 1543 available around the clock.
