‘CONTEMPORARY WORLD FILM SERIES’ AT TK PARK, RESUMES, AFTER 5 YEARS!

We are delighted to resume the Contemporary World Film Series at TK Park, after a long break of five years!

The Royal Hibiscus Hotel, is a lively romantic comedy movie from Nigeria, whose mega ‘Nollywood’ film industry ranks among the top three in the world.

The movie was directed by Ishaya Bako, one of the top contemporary film-makers of the country, and has a vibrant ensemble cast, including a well-known lead-pair.

The story centers around a talented and creative chef, working in London, who does not get the job she wants, there. She decides to make her way back to her family-owned hotel in Lagos, Nigeria.

What she does not know, is that her father has negotiated to sell the hotel. What happens, after she returns, is that the prospective buyer decides to stay in the hotel and check it out. And sparks fly between the two!

With food, romance, and drama, the story has plenty of energy, and the movie created waves when it was screened at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival.

The screening of The Royal Hibiscus Hotel is supported by the Embassy of Nigeria in Bangkok, who will serve Nigerian Snacks and Drinks, after the screening.

The Ambassador of Nigeria to the Kingdom Thailand, H.E. Mr. Oma Djebah, will introduce the film.
