The initiative seeks to move bilateral relations beyond conventional trade towards jointly developed products, technologies and businesses. Thailand offers advanced manufacturing, hospitality expertise and access to ASEAN, while India contributes a large consumer market, skilled talent, technology capabilities and agricultural resources. The gems and jewellery sector could particularly benefit by combining India’s raw-material supply and consumer demand with Thailand’s internationally recognised gemstone cutting, design and manufacturing expertise.
Thailand and India will develop pilot investment projects across the five priority sectors and accelerate technical work connecting India’s UPI with Thailand’s PromptPay. Thailand will host the next Joint Trade Committee meeting in Bangkok in October to review progress and establish cooperation frameworks.
