Event Details Film: Sunset Sunrise Country: Japan Director: Yoshiyuki Kishi Duration: 2 hours 19 minutes Date: Sunday, 25 October 2026 Time: 4:00 PM Venue: TK Park, 8th Floor, CentralWorld, Bangkok About the Film Sunset Sunrise is a vibrant and thought-provoking comedy that skilfully blends romance and drama while exploring important social issues. These include disaster and public-health management, the contrast between urban and rural life, the preservation of historic buildings, and the importance of community. Set during the COVID-19 pandemic, the story unfolds along the scenic coast of Sanriku, where residents live as a close-knit community and remain cautious of outsiders—particularly those arriving from cities affected by the virus. Into this setting comes Shinsaku, a young office worker from Tokyo who relocates to the seaside town to work remotely. He stays in a house owned by the young and attractive Momoka, and his arrival soon creates a stir within the community. However, his warmth, humour and energy gradually win over the local residents. The screening is co-organised by the Embassy of Japan in Bangkok and supported by the Japan Foundation, Bangkok. A reception will follow the screening.
