In his welcome remarks, Ambassador of India to Thailand H.E. Mr. Puneet Agrawal described yoga as a unifying and balancing force, and an accessible, practical pathway to improving quality of life for people of every age group.

The event was graced by H.E. Mr. Pattana Promphat, Minister of Public Health of Thailand, who participated in the yoga session as Guest of Honour. In an inspiring address, the Minister underscored the importance of integrating yoga into healthcare and noted that the growing popularity of yoga in Thailand has further deepened the civilisational and people-to-people ties between the two nations.

The celebration drew a distinguished gathering of dignitaries, including Associate Prof. Dr. Prakorn Siriprakob, Dean of the Faculty of Political Science at Chulalongkorn University; Ms. Sasirit Tangulrat, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand; and Ms. Lin Yang, Deputy Executive Secretary of the United Nations ESCAP, whose presence was deeply appreciated.

This morning’s mass session marked the culmination of an extensive run-up to IDY 2026, during which the Embassy organised more than 30 yoga sessions at schools, universities, corporate offices and public spaces across the country, steadily building participation and enthusiasm ahead of the main event.

The Embassy of India extended its sincere thanks to all participants, partners and supporters whose cooperation helped make the 12th International Day of Yoga a memorable and meaningful celebration.
