William Christie’s Legacy in Reviving French Baroque Music

William Christie, born in Buffalo in 1944, has become a pivotal figure in reviving French Baroque music. After studies at Harvard and Yale, he moved to France and in 1979 founded Les Arts Florissants. Through performances, education, and recordings, he rescued neglected French repertoire and gained international acclaim.
