VHP Thailand & IAT are organizing a Holi party with a Bollywood theme on March 12th at SIAM Park
This year, Thailand will be celebrating the renowned Hindu festival of Holi for the first time. Otherwise known as the festival of colors, it symbolizes the triumph of good over evil and the divine love of Radha and Krishna. The traditional observance involves smearing natural dyes on each other’s faces or pouring colored water. In modern times, however, colored flour mixed with food coloring is the preferred option.
The event in Bangkok will take place on March 12 from 1-10 pm at Bangkok World, near the Siam Amazing Park entrance. It will include performances by famous Bollywood singers, actors, and DJs in Thailand, as well as a ceremony of prayers to the Hindu goddess of wealth, Lakshmi, and the remover of obstacles, Ganesha, from March 8-12. Additionally, savory and sweet dishes from notable Indian restaurants in Thailand will be available, and Indian products will be up for sale.
This Holi color-splashing tradition shares similarities with the Songkran Festival in Thailand and other Southeast Asian nations. It seeks to promote the message of brotherhood and humanity, with people wearing white and keeping their color-stained clothes as a reminder of this. The festival is anticipated to be a vibrant and jubilant celebration of diversity and culture, emphasizing Thailand’s open-mindedness towards different customs and beliefs.
