Sawasdee DC Thai Festival 2025 Marks Thai–U.S. Friendship
The Royal Thai Embassy in Washington, D.C. is hosting the Sawasdee DC Thai Festival 2025 today (Sept 14) at the National Mall, celebrating 192 years of diplomatic relations between Thailand and the United States.
Coinciding with the lead-up to America’s 250th Independence anniversary, the festival features Thai food, art, music, dance, and fashion, alongside cultural experiences such as Muay Thai, traditional massage, handicrafts, and live performances. More than 45 vendors are offering authentic and modern Thai cuisine to visitors.
Ahead of the festival, a reception dinner on September 12 welcomed guests. Ambassador Suriya Chindawongse highlighted the event as a chance to showcase Thailand’s cultural richness while strengthening Thai–U.S. friendship.
Over time, Sawasdee DC has become one of Washington’s most anticipated cultural events, fostering greater appreciation of Thailand’s identity while deepening bonds between the two nations and their peoples.
