We are now in the New Normal era – a time when we are adapting to changes that have occurred all around us. Government agencies also have to adjust their performance in serving the people. The Thailand Innovative Administration Consultancy Institute is cooperating with the Thailand Innovative Administration Foundation to launch a Public Organization Personnel Development Project to respond to changing trends in the world due to the health crisis that has forced people to follow New Normal practices.
One of the topics of a recent lecture is “Where the Government Sector Will Go in the New Normal era.” Mr Sima Simanan, President of the Thailand Innovative Administration Foundation, says changes are fast and powerful so the government sector has to adjust itself to keeping pace with change and be able to lead certain changes as well. He notes that good public administration must be well-planned, traceable, effective, convenient and fast, while legal problems must be solved quickly.
Personnel must adhere to moral and ethical principles in performing their duties, maintain the well-being of the people at the center of administration, and make use of technology and communication. Government officials must be a good example to society, respect the main institutions of the nation, serve the people with accuracy and efficency, and not be obsessed with power.
