Deputy Prime Minister and Acting Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai, accompanied by his wife, led a solemn royal almsgiving ceremony at Sanam Luang on the morning of July 28 to mark the birthday anniversary of His Majesty the King.

The ceremony was attended by high-ranking dignitaries from all branches of government, including members of the Privy Council, the Presidents of the Senate and Supreme Court, cabinet ministers, and heads of independent constitutional bodies. Senior military and police leadership, such as the commanders-in-chief of the armed forces and the Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, also took part.

Joining them were the Bangkok Governor, the Secretary-General to the Prime Minister, senior officials from the Royal Household, and numerous top-level civil servants.

The event featured traditional Buddhist merit-making rituals and almsgiving, forming part of nationwide celebrations in honor of His Majesty’s birthday this year.
