Organization of Awareness Programme Towards Childrens’ Rights

The chief guest of this awareness program, District Magistrate Mrs. Meena Awasthi and other local judges were present at the programme. During the programme, Mrs. Meena Awasthi informed the children about their child rights. With regard to the POCSO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) and child trafficking, Mrs. Meena Awasthi said that the government and the administration are trying their best to stop this crime in every way, but children, parents and guardians also need to educate themselves and be well aware regarding the crime; The more children are aware and alert about their rights, the more child crimes will decrease.

In order to put a stop to child trafficking, Vandana Srivastava, editor of ‘Jago Marudhar Jago’, said that on the pretext of good salary, good job etc., people tend to hand over their children into wrong hands without any proper detailed knowledge, due to which serious crimes like child trafficking and POCSO are committed. Due to ignorance, lack of safety precautions, the possibility of incidents of child abuse increase, hence, people should not let their children fall prey to wrong hands without retrieving accurate information in order to prevent such crimes.

On the noble occasion, Mrs. Shilpi Pachauri and two other senior judicial officers, Mr. Rajesh and Mr. Kuldeep also shared their views and experiences with the children. After the completion of the programme, the girls also put forward a spectacular presentation of a cultural program.
