The Ministry of Culture has organized special activities to celebrate Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother’s 87th birthday on August 12, 2019.
The Culture Minister, Ittipol Khunpluem, today led a group of officials and members of the public to make merit and join a ceremony to honor Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother on Her Majesty’s 87th birthday at the Ministry of Culture.
The event features a learning exhibition and booths selling food and consumer products. Traditional costumes from selected communities are also on display in response to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother’s wish to preserve traditional Thai arts and cultural heritage.
The activities are taking place held at the Ministry of Culture on Tiamruammit Road, Bangkok, until Monday (Aug 12). Throughout this month, the Ministry of Culture is cooperating with other agencies to organize activities to celebrate Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother’s birthday. The ministry is joining the Thai Rice Foundation under Royal Patronage, Trachat Rice and Iconsiam, to hold “National Assets, Siam Arts: Thai Treasures” from August 8 to 12. The event features exhibitions of Thai rice, local textiles and a fashion show. The Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Anthropology Center will present the “Inao” play on August 16. The “Romantic Piano Celebration for the Queen Mother” will take place at the Thailand Cultural Center on August 21 and 22.
