Roses remain the most popular flowers on Valentine’s Day nationwide, selling for between 10 baht per flower and 400 baht per bouquet.
In Bueng Kan province, many teenagers were out buying roses at a municipal marketplace earlier today. Most of them claimed to have bought the flowers for their friends and teachers. Many shoppers preferred to buy single flowers, as opposed to expensive bouquets. The most popular flowers have been white and red roses, some of which were sold for as little as 10 baht.
In Trat province, flower vendors said roses remained the most popular bloom despite price hikes. A bouquet of roses sold for anywhere between 20 and 400 baht, depending on the size. Red roses were the most popular among buyers.
In Songkhla province, hawkers set up stalls in front of Woranaree Chalerm Songkhla School selling roses and dolls. Flowers were sold at 10 – 60 baht a piece. Most of the students said they wanted to give their friends and teachers roses on this special occasion.
