has created a project called “Nakhon Si Model” to expedite development of the potential of personnel from rubber farming institutions to cooperate in the manufacture of rubber pillows and mattresses.
Khanat Thatthong, the president of Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University, held a seminar on a training project this week to analyze problems and develop the manufacturing process in rubber pillow production. The university has cooperated academically with the Rubber Authority of Thailand (RAOT). National experts in rubber innovations also took part in the training.
The training resulted in RAOT organizing a ceremony for the signing of a contract for cooperation in a project to undertake rubber pillow manufacturing and marketing. The public and private sectors and institutions representing rubber agriculturists from all over the nation are involved in the manufacture of rubber pillows and mattresses under the common brand “RAOT”.
It is planned that 2018 will see the start of production with 200 thousand rubber pillows of excellent quality being brought onto the market, which will create a total marketing value of 100 million baht. RAOT has chosen Nakhon Si Thammarat as the first site and created a project called “Nakhon Si Model” because it is a province with the greatest number of institutions of rubber agriculturists in Thailand.
As for attendance on the second of day of the Bueng Kan Red Cross and Rubber Day – 2018 event, it was still bustling with people, especially rubber agriculturists who wanted to learn about academic principles, theories and innovations in rubber cultivation to reduce production costs. The event will continue until 23rd January.
