Provinces across the country are ready to participate in the upcoming royal cremation ceremony for His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej this Thursday.
In the capital Bangkok, a rehearsal for a sandalwood flower laying ceremony was held on Sunday, at a replica of the royal crematorium near the King Rama I Monument, to ensure the readiness of the venue and all related personnel.
In Ubon Ratchathani, marigolds and vetiver grass were planted around the crematorium replica to remind mourners of His Majesty the late King’s many contributions to the farming sector.
In Nakhon Si Thammarat, unrefined rice grain was arranged to form the Thai number 9 and the name of the province, to honor the late monarch. Sculptures of Himmapan animals and 19 small pavilions are also features of the funeral venue.
In Bueng Kan, the crematorium replica has been decorated with 25,000 marigolds. They were arranged to form the word ‘Virtuous King’, the Thai number 9, and the name of the province. Many people have also decorated their homes with marigolds for the cremation ceremony.
In Yala, 60,000 marigolds and 4,000 yellow ixora plants were arranged to form the Thai number 9 and to decorate the funeral site. A rehearsal of the royal cremation ceremony will be held on Tuesday.
