Police Hospital to have medical teams on duty during royal cremation ceremonies

The Police General Hospital will place its medical teams on standby at spots close to the site of the royal cremation of HM the late King, to ensure the safety of mourners.

Deputy Director of Police General Hospital Dr Thana Thurajen said the hospital’s health teams would be on duty from 25th to 27th October at the Wiset Chaisri Gate of the Grand Palace, Sanam Luang royal plaza, Central World shopping center, VIP facilitation unit and volunteer service unit.

Each team will be equipped with life-saving supplies and ambulances. Three helicopters will be available for patients needing to be airlifted. The hospital’s volunteers meanwhile, will closely observe the health of mourners to provide anyone who becomes ill with immediate first aid.

More than 200,000 people are expected to converge on Sanam Luang on 26th October to attend the royal cremation ceremony. Funeral-goers are advised to prepare themselves by bringing along their own essential medicines, drinking water and sun glasses.
