Giving a speech at the opening ceremony, Somchai Sujjapongse, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, said 20% of the country’s population are senior citizens who are 60 years of age and above, prompting the government to draw up various policies in regard to health, employment, and finance in order to prepare for an older society in the near future.
He said the organization of Future Wealth & Luxury EXPO 2017 is one of the government’s attempts to prepare for population ageing and encourages the younger generation to save for retirement.
The event is divided into three different zones – wealthy zone, healthy zone, and luxury zone. Each zone offers different types of products and services. The event continues until August 20th, on the fifth floor of Siam Paragon, in central Bangkok.
