You may have heard of actors spending hours getting their make-up done, but did you know that the no-make-up look is equally difficult to achieve? Yes, seemingly simple things can sometimes turn out to be extremely difficult. Vidya Balan, who plays the title role in ‘Kahaani 2: Durga Rani Singh’, used to spend three hours every day, perfecting her ‘plain’ look. The actress plays a fugitive in the film, which is being presented by Jayantilal Gada (PEN).
Interestingly, make-up wasn’t the only challenge Vidya faced. She elaborates, “As if transforming into Durga wasn’t enough, the role required me to handle trying situations like lying on the road and shooting in garbage dumps. It was tough, but the experience helped me to get into her skin more deeply.”
Director Sujoy Ghosh is all praises for her professionalism. “This film couldn’t have happened without Vidya. Her passion for the art is a class apart.
Her constant inputs on Durga’s nuances helped me shape the character better,” he says.
‘Kahaani 2: Durga Rani Singh’, produced by Kushal Kantilal Gada, Dhaval Jayantilal Gada, Aksshay Jayantilal Gada and Sujoy Ghosh, releases on December 2.
