The 13th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS) starts on September 11, 2016. Journalists in the region have flocked to witness the extravagant exposition being held in Nanning, the capital city of the Guangxi region, China.
The CAEXPO and the CABIS organizing committees held a news briefing session today September 10, inviting Mr. Wu Tongdiao, deputy director-general of the Trade Development Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce of China, and Ms. Yang Yanyan, deputy secretary-general of the CAEXPO Secretariat, to brief Chinese and international journalists on the upcoming events, and support services being provided to members of the media during the period of the fair.
The news briefing was moderated by Mr. Liu Boxian, deputy director-general of the Information Office of the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
According to their presentations, the 13th CAEXPO and CABIS are major events being held against the current backdrop in which China and ASEAN are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the establishment of their dialogue relationship.
There are 2,669 exhibiting enterprises participating in the Expo, and 1,020 of them are international exhibitors, an increase of 14.4% from the previous year. 1,460 booths will be occupied by ASEAN exhibitors, up by 17% over last year.
And this year, 1,434 reporters and journalists from 18 countries have come to cover the event. 164 journalists and reporters from 112 media agencies in ASEAN countries have been invited to the annual Expo.
