Minister of Industry Atchaka Sriboonruang chaired the launch of “SMEs Spring Up”, explaining that it was created by the ministry’s “Springboard Commission” and is in line with the government’s civil-state policy.
The program will see major companies such as PTT Plc., SCG Plc. and 3M Thailand Ltd. sharing their experiences on efficiency, management and technological innovation with selected smaller businesses. Training provided by the companies will focus on 4 areas, namely; state policy, building on innovation, leadership for change and utilizing experience.
The close to 100 SMEs to take part in the program will be chosen from the automotive parts, electronics and food production industries as well as from a list of Ministry of Industry awards winners.
The ministry plans to use the results of the first round of the project to fine tune its approach to further develop SMEs.
