Thailand affirms commitment to tackling human trafficking during US – ASEAN Summit

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said he had joined talk on issue of Protecting Peace, Prosperity and Security in the Asia-Pacific Region during a Special U.S. – ASEAN Summit recently held in California, the United States.

In a televised weekly program, the premier confirmed that the human trafficking issue has been adopted as national agenda and that Thailand is currently seeking cooperation from neighboring countries in bid to amend the international rules and pressing criminal charges against suspected traffickers of women and children.

The premier confirmed that Thailand has taken steps to contain irregular migration in bid to prevent further complications to the human trafficking issue and taken several measures to solve the problems.
