Commerce Min to hold roadshow in several nations, promoting Thai fishery products

The Ministry of Commerce indicated that the kingdom’s seafood exports have yet to be affected by the European Union (EU)’s decision to penalize Thailand with yellow card on Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated (IUU) Fishing.

Deputy Commerce Minister Apiradee Tantraporn stated that in order to prevent further damage from the move, her ministry and local seafood exporters would join hands in organizing a roadshow, aiming to create confidence in Thailand’s seafood products among trading partners.

In the road show, Thailand will ensure foreign importers of her determination to solve the IUU issue within 3 months, well before the 6-month deadline given by the EU expires.

Ms. Apiradee estimated the roadshow would be kicked off in the middle of this month, with initial destinations including Germany, England and France. – See more at: http://thainews.prd.go.th/CenterWeb/NewsEN/NewsDetail?NT01_NewsID=WNECO5805010010002#sthash.tkbFP1BE.dpuf
