Internal trade dept. to closely monitor product prices on Songkran holiday

Director-General of the Department of Internal Trade Bunyarit Kanlayanamit will travel to the Mo Chit Bus Terminal to inspect prices of goods on 10 April in the department’s effort to prevent shops from increasing prices or taking advantage of consumers during the coming Songkran long holiday.

The department will send its “1569” mobile units to the bus terminal to receive complaints about price hikes.

Apart from the Mo Chit Bus Terminal, internal trade officers will be sent to inspect product prices at crowded places on Songkran days such as the Hua Lam Phong Station. In other provinces, provincial internal trade offices will keep monitoring prices of goods and food at rest areas along the roads.

Food and beverages are the products the department is keen to check prices after there were complaints that some shops sold more expensive food and did not place price on their products on a long holiday. – See more at: http://thainews.prd.go.th/CenterWeb/NewsEN/NewsDetail?NT01_NewsID=WNECO5804050010006#sthash.Jv1ii1c9.dpuf
