Commissioner-General urges operations to increase tourists trust in the south

PNPOL580207001000401_08022015_104338The Police Commissioner-General has urged the Provincial Police Region 8 officers to increase their trust from tourists and highlighted the importance of measures to solve international crime in the area.

The Royal Thai Police Commissioner-General Pol Gen Somyot Pumpanmuang observed the operations and announced the policy to the 200 police officers of the Provincial Police Region 8, who are directly responsible for the operations in the 7 southern provinces.

He emphasized compliance to the government’s policy to protect and uphold the monarchy, maintain the national security, and to protect and serve the people.

The Commissioner-General has checked an overview of the criminal activities reported in the area. Crimes regarding firearms, explosives, immigration, and prostitution were most common.

The Commissioner-General has ordered the local commander to analyze the information to plan for operations that will yield maximum effectiveness.

The Commissioner-General then mentioned on the importance of security protection for tourists, as the area is the location of many famous tourist attractions. Furthermore, many tourists are expected to visit the area this year thanks to the ‘Discover Thainess’ tourism year campaign.
