The current parliamentary session has been extended from April 18 at the government’s request that there are many bills pending deliberation by the House and Senate.
Parliament President Somsak Kiatsuranon affirmed he has no plan to call a joint sitting of both Houses to deliberate the third reading of the constitution amendment bill on June 18 as no contacts have been made by government whips. The Parliament will open again on August 1 for the general ordinary session.
Mr. Somsak also asked that during the Parliament’s recess, all sides should take one step back and turn to each other for talks to reduce confrontations due to conflicts of opinion. He reaffirmed that there was no rift in the Pheu Thai Party, but only difference of opinion remains.
