Police suspected three foreigners were involved in the three explosions in Bangkok yesterday, which resulted in 5 injuries.
The first blast occurred at a house the suspects were renting in Soi Pridi Banomyong 31. Shortly after, another explosion was heard when one of the suspects threw a grenade at a cab driver who refused to pick him up. Fleeing the scene to the front of Kasem Pittaya School, the suspect hurled a box of explosives at a police patrol vehicle, which instead hit a passing vehicle and bounced back, causing injury to three bystanders while also blowing his own legs off.
It is believed that three suspects have been involved in the blasts. The first suspect, later identified as an Iranian national named Saeid Moradi, 28, was taken to Chulalongkorn Hospital after sustaining injury to his both legs which later had to be amputated. The second, also holding an Iranian passport, is identified as Mohummad Hazaei, 42, was later apprehended at Suvarnabhumi Airport while waiting to board a flight to Malaysia. However, the remaining suspect is still on the run.
