The Minister of Information and Communication Technology (MICT) recently opened a fair entitled “4G Thailand The First 100 Mbps” at Parc Paragon in Siam Paragon Shopping Complex, Bangkok.
According to MICT Minister Anudith Nakornthap, the ministry supports provision of new high-tech innovations and enhances opportunities for all people to access the high-speed Internet, in accordance with the Smart Thailand policy. Toward that goal, the MICT has teamed up with the private sector, state enterprises and independent agencies, such as the National Broadcasting and Telecommunication Commission, TOT Public Company, CAT Telecom, Advanced Info Service Company (AIS), and Digital Phone Company. During the event, a test run is organized on 4G technology known as Long Term Evolution-LTE, which marks the country’s first approach to the 4G hi-speed wireless broadband and a good sign of cooperation between the public and private sectors to move the country forward.
Consumers of this latest technology are invited to give comments as test spots have already been set up in coverage areas in Bangkok and the provinces such as Maha Sarakham, to make sure the technology will be properly put in place before service rollout in the near future.
