National Police Chief Police General Wichean Potephosree has instructed the Metropolitan Police to step up operations in maintaining peace and order as the general election is approaching.
In an effort to ensure peace during the election, Police General Wichean on Tuesday inspected readiness of the peace-keeping center for the election at the Metropolitan Police Commission. He was then briefed on the overall situation in Bangkok plus assessment of possible violence instigation.
Moreover, the police commissioner-general delivered his policy guideline to police officers to ensure that the election climate before and after polling on 3 July 2011 would be smooth and peaceful.
Police General Wichean also plans to visit the election directing centers located at varioius regional police headquarters in order to make sure that police operations will be in the same direction in maintaining a peaceful election.
