Dr Pailin Chuchottaworn, an expert in the global petrochemical industry, has been selected to replace Mr Prasert Boonsampan as the CEO and president of the domestic giant oil retailer and refinery PTT Plc.
The board of directors of PTT Plc on Friday agreed to appoint Dr Pailin to take the helm of the company after Mr Prasert is scheduled to retire from the post this September.
Mr Pailin said the next process is for him to sign a contract with the Ministry of Finance, who is the major share holder of PTT Plc. He also voices his readiness to perform in the post.
The new CEO confirmed that he has no problem working with another CEO candidate Thewin Wongwanich, saying that he and Mr Thewin have a good relationship as they studied at the same high school.
Dr Pailin has served as the president of IRPC Plc since 2009. He claimed his doctorate in Engineering in Chemical Engineering from Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1985 and a master’s degree from the same institute in 1982.
