The Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) has ensured its preparedness to deal with increasing passengers, both tourists and people wishing to visit home towns, during the upcoming Songkran Festival.
According to BMTA Director Opart Petchmunee, the BMTA has prepared over 7,500 trips of buses to serve people using its service from today until 18 April. Over 4,000 trips will be for outbound passengers during 8 – 12 April while another 3,600 trips will be for those returning from holidays during 14 – 18 April.
Most of the buses will be put on service at main bus terminals and train stations such as those in Chatuchak and Ekamai, the Southern Bus terminal, and Hua Lamphong train station.
Shuttle buses will also be provided on two routes connecting BTS sky train at Mo Chit and Victory Monument stations with the Kamphaeng Phet bus depot of the BMTA. Further information can be enquired by dialing BMTA hotline at 184.
